Celebrating 140 Years of SACS To mark the 140th anniversary of St Andrew's Cathedral School, we're bringing back a beloved tradition—Fair in the Square—for one special day on Friday, 19 September. Known as Carnevale to Old Andreans from 2006 to 2017, our School fete promises all the fun and flavour you remember: food, rides, games, and stalls that are sure to spark a wave of nostalgia. Join us in Sydney Square, which will come alive with the sounds of our talented student performers and the buzz of the school community. It's a wonderful chance to reconnect with old friends, relive treasured memories, and it's just around the corner if you are working in the CBD! We warmly welcome all Old Andreans to come along, say hello, and, if you're up for it, lend a hand on one of the stalls. We're also reaching out to the Hessians—our legendary parent volunteers who brought past fairs to life—for your expertise, ideas, and enthusiasm. If you'd like to be involved, please email community@sacs.nsw.edu.au. As part of our anniversary celebrations, we're also pleased to present Celebrating Our Heritage—a special pop-up museum showcases the rich story of SACS through a curated selection of photographs, artefacts, and memorabilia from our School Archives. You may remember a similar exhibition in Chapter House in 2022 – it's back again this year. Located in the Heath Centre in SAH, the exhibition will be open to visitors during the Fair on Friday and again on Saturday, 20 September, for Old Andreans and Hessians who would like to drop in and have a look. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate the legacy of SACS—and perhaps even spot a familiar face in the archives! |
